Orders & Pricing
1 How much does printing cost?
Pricing depends on the product, quantity, paper quality, and finishing options. For example, business cards start from MVR 200 for 100 cards, A4 flyers from MVR 5 per sheet. Contact us with your specifications for an accurate quote.
2 Do you offer discounts for bulk orders?
Yes! We offer volume discounts for larger quantities. The more you print, the lower the per-unit cost. Contact us with your project details to get a bulk pricing quote.
3 How do I place an order?
You can place an order by visiting our studio, calling us, emailing your files to info@printleaf.mv, or using our online contact form. We'll review your files, provide a quote, and confirm before printing.
4 What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, bank transfer (BML, Bank of Maldives), and mobile payments (BML m-Faisaa). Payment is required before delivery or pickup unless you have a corporate account with us.
5 Can I get a sample before printing in bulk?
Absolutely! We recommend ordering a sample or proof copy for large print runs. This lets you check the paper quality, colors, and overall result before committing to the full quantity. Sample fees apply and are deducted from your final order.
File Preparation & Submission
1 What file format should I submit?
We prefer PDF files (Press Quality or PDF/X-4). We also accept Adobe Illustrator (.AI), EPS, InDesign (packaged), and high-resolution TIFF or PNG files. Avoid Word, JPEG, or low-res images for final print.
2 What is bleed and do I need it?
Bleed is the 3mm extra area around your design that gets trimmed off. It prevents white edges if cutting is slightly off-center. If your design has background colors or images extending to the edge, you MUST include bleed.
3 What resolution should my images be?
Images must be at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the actual print size. Low-resolution images (72 DPI, web images) will appear pixelated and blurry when printed.
4 Should I use RGB or CMYK colors?
Always use CMYK color mode for print. RGB colors (used for screens) will be converted to CMYK, which may cause color shifts. Design in CMYK from the start for accurate color reproduction.
5 Do you check files before printing?
Yes! We offer a free file preflight check. We'll review your files for common issues like low resolution, missing bleed, incorrect color mode, or font problems. We'll contact you if corrections are needed.
6 What if I don't have a print-ready file?
No problem! Send us what you have, and our design team can help prepare it for print. We can fix colors, add bleed, adjust resolution, and make other necessary corrections. Fees may apply depending on the work required.
Turnaround Time & Delivery
1 How long does printing take?
Turnaround time varies by product and quantity. Standard jobs: 1-3 business days. Business cards: 2-3 days. Large format posters: 1-2 days. Booklets/binding: 3-5 days. Rush service available for urgent orders—ask for express pricing.
2 Do you offer same-day printing?
Yes, for certain products and small quantities (flyers, simple business cards, A4 prints), we can do same-day printing if you submit files early in the morning. Rush fees may apply. Contact us to confirm availability.
3 Do you deliver?
Yes! We offer delivery in Malé and nearby areas. Delivery fees depend on location and order size. You can also choose free pickup from our studio.
4 Can you ship to other islands?
Yes, we can ship to other islands in Maldives via courier services (Dhiraagu, Ooredoo). Shipping costs and delivery times vary by destination. Contact us for shipping quotes.
Paper & Materials
1 What paper types do you offer?
We offer various paper stocks: Standard (80gsm copy paper), Premium (120gsm-300gsm coated or uncoated), Art Paper (glossy, 170-300gsm), Matt Paper (non-glossy, 170-300gsm), Textured/Specialty papers, and Cardstock for business cards (300-400gsm).
2 What is GSM?
GSM (grams per square meter) measures paper thickness/weight. Higher GSM = thicker paper. 80gsm = standard copy paper, 170-250gsm = flyers/brochures, 300-400gsm = business cards/postcards.
3 What finishing options are available?
We offer Matt Lamination (non-reflective, elegant), Gloss Lamination (shiny, vibrant), Spot UV (raised gloss areas), Embossing (raised texture), Foil Stamping (gold, silver, holographic), Binding (spiral, perfect, saddle-stitch), and Die-Cutting (custom shapes).
4 Can I see paper samples?
Of course! Visit our studio to see and feel different paper types, weights, and finishes. We'll help you choose the best option for your project and budget.
Colors & Quality
1 Why do colors look different on screen vs. print?
Screens use RGB (light-based colors) while printing uses CMYK (ink-based). CMYK has a smaller color range, so some bright RGB colors cannot be exactly reproduced in print. Always design in CMYK and request a proof if color accuracy is critical.
2 Can you match my brand colors exactly?
For exact color matching, we recommend using Pantone spot colors. Provide us with your Pantone color codes, and we'll match them as closely as possible. For critical brand work, we suggest ordering a proof sample first.
3 Do you offer color proofing?
Yes! We can provide a printed proof or color sample before running the full job. This is especially useful for large orders or when precise color matching is required. Proofing fees apply.
4 What if I'm not happy with the print quality?
Customer satisfaction is our priority. If there's a print error on our part (wrong colors, poor quality, incorrect size), we'll reprint at no charge. If the issue is due to file problems (low resolution, wrong colors provided), reprinting will require approval and payment.
Special Requests
1 Can you print custom sizes?
Yes! We can print many custom sizes beyond standard A4, A5, etc. Let us know your exact dimensions, and we'll confirm feasibility and pricing. Die-cutting available for custom shapes.
2 Do you print on materials other than paper?
Yes, we print on vinyl (banners, stickers), canvas (art prints, photos), PVC (ID cards, keycards), fabric, acrylic, and more. Contact us with your requirements for specialty material printing.
3 Can you handle large print runs (10,000+ copies)?
Absolutely! We regularly handle large-volume orders. Bulk pricing applies. For very large runs, we may need a few extra days. Contact us early so we can schedule your job appropriately.
4 Do you offer eco-friendly printing options?
We are working toward greener practices. We offer recycled paper options and vegetable-based inks upon request. Ask us about eco-friendly materials for your next project.
